Welcome to the official website of Barnaby Edwards.
Barnaby trained at the Guildford School of Acting and has been a professional actor and voice artist for 30 years, working extensively in theatre, television, film and radio. He has appeared on stage in the West End, at Shakespeare’s Globe and at numerous regional theatres. His television credits include Hollyoaks, EastEnders and Doctor Who (as the BBC’s principal Dalek). On the silver screen, Barnaby has appeared in Children of Men, The Plotters and Crazy For You. He has also provided voices for commercials, video games, animated series and awards ceremonies, together with over 150 unabridged audiobooks and more than 200 radio plays and audio dramas.
In addition to his acting and voice-over work, Barnaby has directed and written many productions for the stage, for BBC radio and for various audio companies. He continues to work with Big Finish Productions on the audio series of Doctor Who and Torchwood, as both director and writer. He also directs video games, most recently Dying Light 2, Caliber and King’s Bounty 2.
Since graduating from Exeter University with a degree in French and Fine Art in 1991, Barnaby has painted, lectured and exhibited widely both within the UK and abroad. His works hang in private collections around the world and he regularly undertakes portrait and design commissions. He also has a range of postcards, greetings cards and T-shirts!
Today is the launch day for this glorious collection of reminiscences by one of the most precious people on the planet: Miriam Margolyes. As with her autobiography, This Much Is True, it was my honour and pleasure to direct Miriam narrating the audiobook.
